Meet Jesse & Jessica Fernandes
Jesse grew up his whole life in the Roman Catholic Church before devoting his life to Christ over the last decade. Jesse is a US Army Veteran and owned successful Real Estate and Logistics companies before answering the call to full-time ministry as a Pastor. He met and married his wife, Jessica, the Children’s Director at their home church.
Jessica grew up in a Christian home with a heart for the lost. Before marrying Jesse, she served on multiple domestic inner-city mission trips and international missions from Thailand to South Africa.
Together, they completed graduate and postgraduate degrees in Religion and Theology (Jesse), Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Theology (Jessica). Together, they have seven children, including some of whom are homeschooled.
They share a passion for the gospel, a heart for discipleship, and a burden for the lost and broken people who need the hope of Christ. Their mission is to live out the gospel and equip others to do so in tangible ways.

Our Partners in Ecuador
FABIAN & GRACIELA BUENANVENTURAThey have two children, the eldest is Elías and Benjamín. They also care for a young boy named Moses who was adopted by Fabian’s family.
When they felt the Lord calling them to serve, they left their jobs and decided to come to Pacoche to serve as national missionaries in the rural parts of Manta, Ecuador. The Buenaventuras started serving the Lord in the year 2000. They went to Pacoche once a week to establish and cultivate relationships with the people in the community. The first services as a church were held on February 2, 2001. The church and ministries have grown, and they now have outreach ministries in three other nearby communities. |

PAUL & SUSAN FERNANEThey are devoted parents to four grown daughters, grandparents to 14, and great grandparents to two. After visiting Ecuador on a couple short-term trips with their church, Paul and Susan Fernane felt called to come and serve in Ecuador. They moved from Fishers, Indiana, to Quito in November 2005.
Their time has been devoted to serving those in desperate situations. They live in a small fishing village, Pacoche. Susan faithfully prepares Sunday school and kids’ club crafts for the local church. They also serve with a small church outside of Quito called Iglesia Buen Pastor San Carlos. They are passionate about showing the love of Christ in practical ways, and their ultimate desire is to see hearts transformed for eternity. |
